1. Data We Collect

• Account data: email address, display name, and (if used) OAuth tokens from Google or GitHub.
• Training data: session logs, grades, attempts, notes, program history, wellness check-ins, and benchmarks you enter.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and error logs — collected to improve the product.
• Device data: browser type, operating system, and IP address.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide, maintain, and improve ClimbTrainer.
• To generate personalized training programs and analytics.
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset).
• To detect and prevent abuse or security issues.

We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.

3. Data Sharing

Your training data is private by default. It is only shared with a coach after you explicitly accept a connection request from them. You can revoke coach access at any time from your account settings.

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the platform (hosting, authentication, email delivery). These processors are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Export your training data in a portable format.

6. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of ClimbTrainer after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
